Research Assistant in the Effects of Loading and Strain-Rate on Biological Systems
Held in the Institute of Shock Physics (ISP), Imperial College London, and jointly supervised by Dr WG Proud and Professor Sara Rankin (Department of Medicine), the post will build on recent progress in the development of loading platforms, investigating the relationship between blast wave produced by a shock tube and the range of loading techniques. Scientific Study: Hearing damage from blast exposure
Dr Tobias Reichenbach's CBIS-based research group are undertaking an investigation of the hearing damage that results from blast exposure and our study will contribute to better aid and compensation for war veterans with hearing impairments. We have recently examined those exposed to blast that have hearing impairment and now seek healthy volunteers without blast exposure for a control study.
You will have your travel expenses (public transportation where possible and taxi) reimbursed, and will receive an additional compensation of £20 for each testing session. We will ask you to come for two testing sessions, which we can schedule for one day or for two different days, as is convenient for you. All study results, and in particular all of your results, will remain completely anonymous. For further details, see the study's Healthy Controls.

Research Group Manager (ENG00071)
The Department of Bioengineering at Imperial College London is investing in the Head of Department’s research activities through establishing a Musculoskeletal Biomechanics Research Coordinator position. The aim of this post is to provide high-level support for Professor Anthony Bull in managing his research activities and group whilst he undertakes the additional role of Head of Department of Bioengineering. The Research Group Manager will support grant writing, reporting, liaising with external funding bodies and external stakeholders and manage the smooth running of all aspects of the musculoskeletal mechanics research group.
